Colleges recommend that students test in the late spring of their Junior year. Click here for specific dates, cost, and how to sign up for college testing.
ACT vs SAT The SAT attempts to measure reasoning skills. The ACT is more achievement based, testing math, natural science, social studies, and English usage. For some students, the SAT is an accurate gauge of ability, but for others, especially those with strong knowledge of science or history, the ACT is more advantageous.
IT IS MOST IMPORTANT THAT STUDENTS CHOOSE THE TEST THAT BEST COMPLIMENTS THEIR STYLE OF COLLEGE PREPARATION. Please see the link on your left for a complete schedule of SAT and ACT test dates, fee's, etc.
FALL ACTIVITIES: Orientations - Counseling classroom orientations will begin the first week of September covering pertinent information for each grade level. Freshman, Sophomore and Junior students will receive presentations in their English or Social Science classes. Seniors will meet individually with their counselor.
SPRING ACTIVITIES Registration - During the Spring semester, Counselors visit English classes in all grade levels to begin discussing next years class selection process. This process begins in February with classroom visits. English classes come into the Counseling Office within several weeks to turn in registration cards, meet with their Counselors, and complete the class registration process.
